Một góc nhìn khác về Việt Nam.

My first trip to Vietnam, to this land which is a part of me.
Places visited: Halong Bay, Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, Saigon, the Mekong delta, Phan Tiet.
" We’re on the 24th of December, here it is, I’m finally in Vietnam. We just landed in Hanoi, capital of the country. It’s a first for me, I’m with my family, with my father who left this country at the age of 18. Since I was a little boy, I dream about making this trip with them, with him. After several hours on a local bus on his way to the East, we are boarding on a junk, heading for the bay of Halong. I’m in the middle of this bay and the sight of these hills tearing open the sea through this mist fascinates me. It’s Christmas Eve, but my mind is elsewhere, being here is my gift. The next day we are back on the road to the South, and will succeed to each other Huế and its Imperial city, the astonishing and preserved village of Hoi Han and finaly Hồ Chí Minh, said Saigon. This last, megalopolis with its constant stream of mopeds moving around through this absolute anarchy, looks fluid though. The perpetual motion of these streets did not stop me from feeling a bit like home, at ease in these neighborhoods where my father grew up. That’s why I filmed “This Land”, trying to share the emotion I felt discovering these cities and villages, this country, this land which is mine in some ways. BACKPACKERS:
2 boys. 3 countries. 23 days. Chapter I: VIETNAM
Here's the first chapter of our Asian adventure. We spent six days in vietnam. Arrived in Ho Chi Minh City we stopped few days then we went down to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, stopping first at Cu Chi. Last step was Chau Doc, where we boarded for Cambodia. What impressed me the most of Vietnam were friendliness and smiles and smiles of Vietnamese, as well as beautiful landscapes that leave you speechless. I literally fell in love with this country. Chapter II: CAMBODIA
We arrived in Phnom Penh by boat through the Mekong River and we spent about 8 days going up the country till Battambang, via Siem Reap. Cambodia is fantastic and really varied: we moved from completely uncivilized areas to touristic places full of charm, like the archaeological site of Angkor, structures that leave you totally breathless. This is 'my' Cambodia. Chapter III: THAILAND
Thailand is a really fast-moving country. In a few days we visited the North, the South and the Center: Bangkok, Phi Phi Islands, Phuket and Chang Mai. From city to forest, from rain to sun, from sea to hills: the perfect end of an unexpected travel. |
For the 60th birthday of my father I promised him to bring him to Vietnam. It was for him "the dream" destination because his father went to Vietnam during the war as solder. We spent 8 days in Vietnam in different cities: Saigon, Hanoi, Halong Bay, and Sapa. We met so many amazing people there. Here is the movie about this amazing trip, I hope this movie will be able to make you travel like we did.
